Opening times

ADVANCE NOTICE of a Christmas and New Year break for our hard working volunteers.

The Link Café will close at 3.30pm on Friday 19th December 2025 and reopen at 10.30am on Monday 5th January 2026.

A Happy Christmas and New Year to you all

Our current opening times are

Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 10.30am to 3.30pm (excluding Bank Holidays and Public Holidays)

and on Tuesdays, we open as usual at 10.30am, but close at 1pm.

Sorry, no cooked meal orders can be taken after 12 noon on Tuesdays. We hope this will be a temporary measure. We have been forced to make this change until we have built a replacement team of volunteers for Tuesday afternoons. 

If you have a few hours to spare and would like to consider joining our band of loyal volunteers to work in the café (on any day, not just Tuesdays) or to support us by doing home baking or laundry please contact us here.

ALSO …We need adults to work in the cafe if we are to reopen on Saturdays. Youngsters like to volunteer on Saturdays but at the moment we have insufficient numbers of adults to meet the legal requirement of 2 adults per team. The minimum commitment could be just once in four weeks, although you could also volunteer more often. Please contact us if you are interested.

Volunteers wanted for The Link Café!

The Link Café is managed and run by volunteers like you! Please come and join us!  Some people who previously gave their time to The Link Café have not been able to return following the COVID lockdown so more volunteers would be very welcome. Working  in the kitchen and serving customers is only part of what volunteers can do. We are also looking for people to join a rota to do laundry (tea towels/ aprons) and to bake cakes and biscuits. You can claim expenses for these.

The future of The Link Café will always be dependent on new volunteers coming forward so if you, or anyone you know, would like join us even a few hours of time, behind the scenes or in the café, please contact us here

Our Recipe Book

In 2009, to celebrate our 20th anniversary a recipe booklet was compiled with the help of  our volunteer bakers and soup-makers.

 A new booklet was compiled in 2022. It contains recipes provided by volunteers. Some are used in the café and others are favourites our volunteers cook at home and wanted to share.

Copies of this new booklet are available at The Link Café – price £2.50.

A couple of our recipes are featured here on this website for you to try out at home. We hope you enjoy trying out the recipes or better still come and enjoy them ready-made for you at the Café.
